Did you say that you are excited to starting your coaching business and all SET to get your FIRST Set of Coaching Clients?
OR – Are you lost and unable to figure out WHERE to start?
OR – Are you thinking of adding more credentials to your KITTY before starting your coaching business as you believe “MORE CREDENTIAL MAKES YOU CREDIBLE?”
How about this: You read about a successful coach. You read about his 7-figure income. He has an impressive website, a great brand image and an incredible following.
And you? Nobody knows who you are (beyond your close circle), you have a website but hardly any traffic. You have a feeling that you are nowhere near Launching your Coaching Service. Anxious and uncertain?
I know this can be overwhelming but Remember your Purpose and Objective of starting on this path.
Remember that you want to motivate and inspire others to achieve their highest potential and you want to help them lead an extraordinary life.
So, what’s stopping you from realising your Dream?
Like in any business, it will take time and effort to setup your coaching practice and get clients. Hanging a Board outside your office is not enough for you to get clients.

PROVEN TACTICS THAT CAN HELP YOU GET COACHING CLIENTS

1. What makes you Different? By now you know it very well – There are coaches all around. If you are looking at making coaching your profession (doesn’t matter if its part-time or fulltime), its important to work on building your value proposition. Take time to build your Unique Selling Proposition (USP). Think what makes you different from others. What makes you or your company unique in the marketplace and for your potential customers? Think how and what gives you or your company an advantage over others and what would give your potential consumers a distinct reason to buy from you? A well-defined USP and its execution can give a compelling reason to you potential customers of what your business will do for them which others cannot.
2. Do you have an Elevator Pitch? Simply put – how can you present your offerings in 30 seconds or less. Hone your skills and practice it enough so that you can present your elevator pitch when the opportunity arises. Learn to highlight the part of your offerings which seem to attract the potential customers enough that they are willing you discuss with you further on. This pitch should be able to spark the interest of your potential clients and they should be interested to know more. Craft your statement that tells in a compelling way – whom you serve and what you do.
3. Use your Network : Have you heard this – Your Network Is Your Net Worth. One great place to start working for not just honing your coaching skills but even for getting your first few clients, would be your existing network. You don’t have to be overtly marketing yourself all the time, but take time to get to know the people in your network and deepen your connection. Start showing up regularly at events where they are present. Take help from those whom you know to get introduced to people they know. Talk to them and present insights which are valuable to them. Credibility plays an important role in building and expanding your network. Simple thing like providing insights to issues people face (remember – you are a coach and have lot of insights and knowledge). Credibility can help you get referrals as people are eager to help someone who has helped them or someone whom they know.
4. We all Love Free Stuff : Did you know one of the most popular word on Google Search is FREE…Does that surprise you? Don’t we all love free stuff? Who doesn’t like an unexpected gift, freebie or giveaway?

You can start by reaching out to your close family , friends , customers and mention that you have become a coach ( remember to use your Elevator Pitch ) and you are willing to do one session free for them as you value their friendship / relationship or their contribution in your life . If they like your free session and you can position your offerings well, there are chances that they may end up signing up for more sessions (make sure you ask for it without any hesitation, if you feel that your session has made a difference). If your session has gone well, you can ask them for referrals (as you have already established your credibility thru’ the free session that you have done). Remember – we love to help someone who has done something for us.

You can also leverage your mailing list and reach out to your contacts and offer a coaching session for, say first 10 clients (Use the urgency principle). This can get you few interested prospective clients whom you can influence for paid sessions eventually

1. Promote yourself Online : One sure shot way to start creating your brand awareness is to regularly “Show Up” on relevant Social Platforms. It could be as simple as creating posts on Facebook, joining relevant Groups on Facebook, creating posts on Professional Networking sites like – Linkedin, etc. While you should ask your friends and customers to like and comment on your posts, its important to establish your credibility and authority by responding to relevant posts on Social Media. Over time, this can help you build your brand and create awareness around your authority and expertise. To ensure you are able to show your prowess in shorter groups – create webinars and Live events at regular interval.
2. Learn How to Sell : “Learn how to Sell !!! What do you mean? I have never sold ☹☹☹. I shudder with the very thought of speaking to a stranger and pitching my services 😥 😥 😥.” If this is how you feel at the thought of talking to your prospects and positioning yourself, then you should look at going thru’ a basic sales training – Sales 101. It will help you overcome such thoughts as well as prepare you for interacting with your clients with ease and confidence.
